U 931 books, inspired by the facts

On the 8th of January 1945, U.S Admiral Jonas Ingram, gave a press conference in New York. In it, he said that he had reason to believe that the Nazis were ready to launch an attack on New York and Washington, with robot bombs. He then went on to say that the attacks were not only possible, but likely, and that ten to twelve ‘buzz bombs’ may be launched before they could be stopped.

Clearly, the Americans thought that the Germans had the capability to carry out such an attack. So in January, 1945, a plan to hunt down any U-boats capable of launching such missiles, was undertaken off the eastern seaboard; it was called ‘Operation Teardrop.’

In February 1947, a variant of the V-1 was used by the U.S Navy to test the feasibility of launching such a missile from a submarine. The ‘Loon’ missiles were successfully launched from the USS Cusk and USS Carbonero. The U.S Navy proved that it had been technically possible for the Kreigsmarine to have launched a V-1 rocket from a submarine. The first cruise missile!
About the series
U931 Attack on America is unique, because by combining Hitler’s wonder weapons, together with timelines and characters from the period, plus the eye-opening facts listed above, I have concocted a credible story, a fast paced action and adventure tale.
To my knowledge, no work of fiction has previously brought these elements together in such a way and at its conclusion, the reader will be asking themselves, what if? One reviewer likened it to ‘The Hunt for Red October’ meets ‘Where Eagles Dare.’
The novel was inspired by the Americans belief that the Nazis were indeed capable of launching a V1 rocket from the deck of a U-boat and the fact that 'Operation Teardrop' was put into place brings credibility to this.
During further research, I realised that although the Nazis were not capable of producing an atomic weapon, they did indeed have access to radioactive isotopes and I used this as a basis for a secondary attack alongside the launching of the V1s.
The second novel, 'U931 Roth's Return' was written from the heart and describes in depth the main character of the series, Captain Ahron Roth, as he desperately tries to escape the forces that are trying to capture him after the attacks on the capitol.
I'm now in the process of writing a prequel, 'U931 No More Happy Times' where all the main characters are brought to life in the journey that is.......U931.
